MANILA, Philippines—A Metrolink bus was held up Thursday evening by two armed men while it was traversing Edsa-Buendia Avenue in Makati City.
A Makati City Police official, who requested anonymity, told INQUIRER.net over the phone that the robbers whipped out fan knives, declared a hold up at around 6:30 p.m. and divested the passengers of their mobile phones and wallets.
The official said at least five persons have been victimized by the robbers.
“They declared the hold up reaching the corner of Buendia MRT (Metro Rail Transit). When they got to the (MRT) station, the holdup men immediately got off the bus,” he said.
The victims and the Metrolink bus driver are now in the Makati City Police Station to file their complaint.
According to the complainants, one of the men wore a black sando, short pants and bonnet while the other was clad in white shirt and short pants.
Makati policemen are still conducting pursuit operations within the area where the robbery took place.
