MANILA, Philippines—The Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) will be transmitted to Congress anytime now, saying that it is “99.99 percent done”, a Malacañang official said Tuesday.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio “Sonny” Coloma Jr. said that the BBL will be passed anytime from “from today up to the before date”.

In a statement, Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Teresita Deles, said that it is expected to be submitted to Congress before President Benigno Aquino III leaves for Europe next month.

According to Deles, MILF panel and Bangsamoro Transition Commission Chair Mohagher Iqbal, estimated that the draft bill is ‘99.99 percent done.’

Deles also said that Aquino has already finished reviewing the draft BBL two weeks ago and has exchanged notes with the MILF to further refine it.

Coloma also added that the BBL remains to be a priority of the Aquino government and is confident that the December deadline for the passage of the said measure into law will be met.

“Nananatili pa rin ‘yon with the sense of urgency and the high priority given by the President and continued assurances from the leaders of Congress of their full support for this priority measure,” Coloma said.
