Did you know: Fred Ruiz Castro

Today, Sept. 2, is the 100th birth anniversary of the late Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred Ruiz Castro. Born in 1914, he became a full-fledged lawyer at the age of 22 and later joined the Philippine Army as a lieutenant. One of his achievements was the establishment of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He died of heart attack in 1979.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
