Light to moderate rains this weekend

MANILA, Philippines—Most of the country will continue to experience light to moderate rains on Saturday due to the low pressure area affecting the country for the past three days.

The low pressure area which was estimated to be off Palawan as of Friday night is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone but is expected to dissipate over the weekend, state weather forecasters said.

According to the latest weather advisory, Luzon and Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pag-asa).

Meanwhile the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening Saturday.

As of 4 p.m. Friday, the low pressure area was estimated at 140 kilometers north of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan. Dona Z. Pazzibugan
