Melchora Aquino, known as the Mother of the Philippine Revolution, was arrested and imprisoned in Bilibid by Spanish authorities on Aug. 29, 1896. While detained, she was subjected to interrogations but refused to give information about the Katipunan. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
