Death toll from month of flooding in China at 90

BEIJING—The death toll from a month of flooding triggered by heavy rains across China has climbed to 90, with another 22 people missing.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs website reported late Wednesday that flooding in Henan, Shaanxi, Sichuan and six other provinces has forced nearly 1 million people to flee their homes.

China’s Meteorological Administration says more than 40 rivers have surpassed their warning levels.

Heavy rains are expected to persist for the next two days in southern China.
