Superintendent Ganaban Ali, San Miguel Police chief, according to a Radyo Inquirer 990 AM report, that the body of the 16-year-old girl was recovered around 2 p.m. some 200 meters from the portion of the river where the raft carrying them was toppled by the current.
Based on the investigation, Ali said the water was 20-feet high at the time eight Tourism BSU students were crossing the river to visit Madlum Cave.
The search team of the Philippine Army and San Miguel municipal disaster risk reduction and management office are still scouring the river for the other missing student.
On Tuesday afternoon, four busloads of BSU students and teachers went to San Miguel town for an exposure trip.
Of the eight students, bodies of the four were recovered while two students were rescued.
