MANILA, Philippines – Who is Senator Vic Sotto?

During the budget hearing of the Senate committee on finance on Tuesday, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco mistakenly  addressed   Senator  Vicente  “Tito” Sotto III as “Senator Vic Sotto.”

Vic  Sotto is   the senator’s brother  and a veteran comedian.

FEATURED STORIES

Tetangco made the  blunder after  Senator  Francis “Chiz” Escudero,  chairman of the Senate committee, recognized the presence of Sotto, who came late  in the hearing.

After  recognizing  Sotto, Escudero then called Tetangco to proceed with his presentation.

“Honorable chairman  of the committee on finance, Francis Chiz Escudero, the honorable Senate President Franklin Drilon, the honorable minority leader Senator Vic Sotto and the honorable Senator Nancy Binay,” Tetangco said.

The  BSP chief proceeded apparently without noticing his mistake. No member of the Senate  also corrected  him.
