Tornado leaves 9 families homeless

A tornado ripped through the coast of Pampanga province on Friday, leaving nine families homeless and 10 others with damaged houses in Sitio Mindanao in Barangay (village) San Esteban in Macabebe town. All 19 families evacuated to the village’s chapel.

Angie Blanco, provincial disaster risk reduction and management council officer, said no one died, contrary to a report that the twister killed a man in Barangay Malusac in Sasmuan town.

Tornadoes have begun to occur more frequently in Pampanga and neighboring Bulacan province, reports culled by the Inquirer showed. Tonette Orejas, Inquirer Central Luzon
