MANILA, Philippines–A fisherman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday night in Barangay (village) Tanza, Navotas City.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Archival Naval, was last seen alive around 10 p.m. buying liquor in his Tambak 1 neighborhood. Police surmised that he was chased and shot multiple times upon reaching Ilang-Ilang Street, where the body was found.

Found at the crime scene were eight bullet casings as well as the items he had bought: a bottle of gin, a sachet of powdered juice, and grilled chicken heads.

The police were checking reports Thursday that the victim, who sported a Sputnik gang tattoo, had been out on bail after being charged with theft and acts of lasciviousness.–Vaughn Alviar
