85% say no to Binay-Roxas tandem for 2016 elections

MANILA, Philippines – A resounding “no.” That was the answer of 8 out of 10 INQUIRER.net readers who participated in an online poll on whether the tandem of Vice President Jejomar Binay and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas will click during the 2016 election.

The question answered by 5,905 respondents was “Do you think a Binay-Roxas tandem in 2016 polls will appeal to voters?”

Of the number, only 10.38 percent or 614 individuals voted “yes” while 84.65 percent or 5,009 seemed unimpressed with the pairing by voting “no.”

On the other hand, 4.97 percent or 294 people remained undecided and answered “maybe.”

Although from opposing political parties, Binay earlier said he was willing to join forces with the Liberal Party and work with Roxas as his running-mate.

Roxas, who failed to bag the vice presidential seat during the 2010 elections, is believed to be President Benigno Aquino III’s favored successor.

Meanwhile, Pulse Asia’s latest electoral survey showed that Binay had a comfortable lead against other possible presidential candidates.
