MANILA, Philippines—The Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila suspended its classes as a bomb scare hit its Sta. Mesa campus Tuesday afternoon.
This was later proven to be a hoax after the Manila Police District-Explosive Ordinance Disposal searched the area.
Earlier the PUP announced over Twitter that its students and employees were asked to evacuate the main building due to a bomb threat.
Media reports said the threat was received by a school staff through a phone call that a bomb was planted at the A. Mabini Campus.
In a Facebook post, the PUP said the threat prompted school administrators to suspend classes in the undergraduate and high school level in that campus.
Meanwhile, work and classes were not suspended in other PUP colleges including:
College of Law
College of Communication
College of Engineering
College of Architecture and Fine Arts
College of Tourism, Hospitality and Transportation Management, and Institute of Technology
