The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), which holds office in Diliman, Quezon City, was created by Presidential Decree 977 signed on Aug. 11, 1976. The agency, initially called the Philippine Fish Marketing Authority, was later renamed PFDA with expanded functions by virtue of Executive Order 772 signed on Feb. 8, 1982.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
