MANILA, Philippines — A partylist group will file a fourth impeachment complaint against President Benigno Aquino III on Monday (Aug. 11).

ACT Teachers Rep. Antonio Tinio said that his group’s impeachment complaint would indict the President for sustaining the pork barrel system in this year’s budget in violation of a Supreme Court ruling declaring the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) unconstitutional.

“We will impeach the President for betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Constitution for perpetuating the system of congressional pork despite the SC ruling. Part of the evidence we will use are statements made by Cabinet officials but never before made public,” said Tinio in a text message.

“These recordings will confirm that the Aquino administration has continued the pork barrel system in the budget process. These were made in closed-door meetings with members of the House of Representatives,” said Tinio.

The first two complaints were for the illegal deployment of Disbursement Acceleration Program while the third was for the President’s new defense pact with the US allegedly for the establishment of American military bases in the country.
