A sport utility vehicle belonging to a Manila city councilor was stolen Saturday morning shortly after his driver got off to buy from a bakery in Quezon City.

The still unidentified suspect took over and fled in the brown Mitsubishi Montero (POV-828) after forcing another employee of the councilor out of it.

The robbery happened near the corner of Scout Tobias and Lazcano streets around 7:30 a.m., according to Roland Subion, driver of Councilor Jong Isip.

Isip’s house help, Reyna Protacio, was briefly left alone inside the vehicle and the engine was still running when the suspect approached and forced Protacio off the front passenger seat.

Within seconds, the robber was behind the wheel and driving off. According to a report to the Quezon City Police District’s Kamuning station, Subion described the robber to be bald, stocky and wearing a blue T-shirt and cargo pants. Erika Sauler
