Traffic jam experienced as Magallanes interchange shut for repairs
MANILA, Philippines—Motorists and commuters experienced heavy traffic Saturday on roads leading to Magallanes interchange in Makati City, which has been closed for repairs and reblocking, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
Alpha Lorista of the MMDA Metrobase said heavy traffic was being experienced on the following roads:
- Arnaiz going to Magallanes
- Nichols going to Magallanes
- Malibay approaching Magallanes
- Edsa to Magallanes
- Service Road going to Magallanes
The MMDA advised motorists to take alternate routes designated following to the closure of the Magallanes flyover.
Motorists coming from Manila and going to Cubao are advised to take the service road, turn right toward Magallanes Village on San Gregorio Street, turn right again on Lapu-Lapu Avenue, left on Victoria Street, and then right on Magallanes Avenue to get to Edsa. From Edsa, they can then take the northbound ramp of the Magallanes flyover to go to Cubao.
Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Roxas Boulevard may turn left at the corner of Edsa and Taft Avenue, which will be open to vehicles turning left from August 9 to August 17.
Article continues after this advertisementMotorists going toward the South Luzon Expressway and the Alabang, Muntinlupa City, are advised area to take the Osmeña Highway-Magallanes Service Road.
The MMDA has announced that the part of the flyover going to Alabang would be closed starting Friday, August 8 until August 17, Sunday.
