MANILA, Philippines–The police are looking for the man who shot dead a former soldier as the victim was drinking with his friends in Makati City on Wednesday night.
Teodorico Estacio, 47, a former Army sergeant, died after he was shot in the head and neck by a still unidentified man who fled afterward. The police, however, said that they now have a lead on the gunman as the victim’s friends were able to provide them with a description.
Makati police chief Senior Supt. Manuel Lukban said that the killing might have something to do with Estacio’s military service. The shooting happened in the house of the victim’s friend on Mt. Apo Extension in Barangay (village) Southside at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Estacio was drinking when the gunman approached him and shot him twice before escaping on foot. Scene of the crime operatives recovered two empty shells and two slugs from a .45-cal. pistol afterward.–Maricar B. Brizuela
