MANILA, Philippines — Most INQUIRER.net readers that participated in a poll on a Quezon City ordinance requiring motorcycle riders to wear plate vests to help deter crimes said they disagreed with the local law.
Of the 14,021 readers, 10, 794 or 76.98 percent said “no” to the question “Do you think requiring motorcycle riders a plate vest will help deter crimes?”
There were 17.86 percent or 2,504 that voted “Yes,” while 5.16 percent or 723 voted “Maybe” in the poll that was conducted from August 1 to 6.
It was reported that Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista would review the ordinance.

The Quezon City Council, which has approved the measure sponsored by Councilor Ranulfo Ludovica, believed that making the plate number visible would help in cases of crimes or vehicular accidents.
