Cops kill two alleged hoods in shootout outside Intramuros
MANILA, Philippines—Two suspected criminals were killed in a shootout with police just outside the walls of Intramuros and at the edge of Rizal Park in Manila early Monday.
Manila Police operatives have yet to identify the two slain men, who were described as being between 35 to 40 years old, both barefoot, and 5’3” and 5’6” tall.
One of them wore a white-and-blue helmet, black T-shirt, and checkered cream shorts. He also had the name “Fred” tattooed on the right hand. The other wore a black helmet, black jacket, and brown shorts. The second man had a tattoo on the right hand.
The shooting occurred around 4 a.m.at the corner of Finance Road and P. Burgos Drive.
Two policemen–PO1 Ricardo Lo and PO1 Vhermon Gerero—were patrolling the area in a police car when they spotted the two men beside a parked motorcycle with a bent registration plate that rendered it unreadable.
The cops tried to approach the men to question them, but one of them drew a gun and fired on them. They then got on the motorcycle and sped away but were chased by the policemen in their patrol car.
