MANILA, Philippines–When he was diagnosed with kidney disease seven years ago and in need of money for his dialysis sessions, Harvey Ramos sold off his possessions, which included a house and a piece of land.
These were some of the things he bought when he was still single and working in Saudi Arabia as a carpenter, Harvey’s wife, Alfa, told the Inquirer.
When he got sick, he was sent home by his employer, she added.
At one point, Harvey underwent a kidney transplant but the organ stopped functioning when he came down with pneumonia and developed an infection, Alfa said.
As a result, her 36-year-old husband needs to undergo dialysis again for his condition to improve.
“I am knocking on the hearts of your readers for my husband’s twice-weekly dialysis sessions, which cost P6,000 a month. Regardless of the amount they will give, it will surely go a long way and it will extend his life,” she said.
Alfa can be reached at 0947-5043222. Deposits can be made to the BDO account of Harvey’s aunt, Lorna Ramos, with account number 005760190319.
