The National Democratic Front is set to free four policemen upon the implementation of a ceasefire in six towns in Surigao del Norte province.
MANILA, Philippines–The New People’s Army (NPA) is expected to free this week four policemen held captive since July 10 once a five-day ceasefire in six towns in northeastern Mindanao is declared.
This was after Interior Secretary Mar Roxas secured the commitment of the National Democratic Front (NDF) to free the policemen upon the implementation of a ceasefire in six Surigao del Norte towns.
The policemen—PO3 Vic Calubag Concon, PO1 Rey O’niel Morales, PO1 Joen Zabala and PO1 Edito Roquino—were captured by the NPA in a July 10 raid of the Algeria town hall.
