LPA east of Luzon on Sona day

MANILA, Philippines–A low pressure area (LPA) east of southern Luzon will bring light to moderate rains Mimaropa (Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan provinces),  the Bicol Region and the Visayas on Monday, July 28, when President Aquino delivers his State of the Nation Address, or Sona.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The LPA was spotted 940 kilometers east of southern Luzon as of 4 a.m. Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.–Bong Lozada and Frances Mangosing
