Killed were Marife Monteves, 37, who was nine months pregnant, and daughter Danica.
The woman’s husband, Danilo, and two other children, Diana, 9, and Danilyn, 5, suffered bruises and cuts and were taken to the St. Camillus Hospital.
Danilo said they were taking a nap inside the shanty past 1 p.m. Saturday when they heard a rumbling sound followed by something crashing into their home.
Two boulders struck the part of the house where his wife and Danica were sleeping, crushing them to death. He and the two younger children slept in another corner of the house, he said.
Danilo said the boulders may have been loosened by continuous rain since Friday night. Their house was located at the foot of a mountain near the highway.
