MANILA, Philippines-Typhoon “Henry” has weakened as it moved toward Taiwan, the weather bureau said Tuesday afternoon.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that “Henry” was last located at 170 kilometers north of Basco, Batanes at 4 p.m.
Pagasa added that “Henry” was packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of 160 kph, weaker than the 140 kph winds and 170 gusts that prevailed earlier. The typhoon was moving northwest at a pace of 24 kph.
Public storm warning Signal No. 2 still remained hoisted over the Batanes Group of Islands while Babuyan Group of Islands and Signal No. 1 was raised over Calayan Group of Islands.
“Henry” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility Wednesday afternoon.
