Signal No. 2 up in Batanes

MANILA, Philippines – Signal No. 2 was hoisted over the Batanes Group of Islands late Monday afternoon  as Typhoon “Henry” continued its path out of the Philippine area of responsibility.

In its bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration also placed Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Calayan Group of Islands under public storm warning Signal No. 2.

As of 4 p.m., “Henry” was located 420 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan with peak winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of 160 kph while moving northwest at 24 kph.

Pagasa said that “Henry” would enhance the southwest monsoon and would bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.

“Henry” is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday afternoon.
