Motorists told to brace for heavy traffic on NLEX due to INC event

MANILA, Philippines — Motorists using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) were told to brace for heavy traffic starting Wednesday, July 23, due to the upcoming centennial celebration of Iglesia ni Cristo in Bulan province.

“From July 23 to 27. High volume of traffic expected. Plan your trips ahead,” the NLEX said in a traffic advisory on Twitter.

The centennial celebration of the Iglesia ni Cristo will be held on July 27 at Ciudad de Victoria in Duhat, Bulacan.

The event will be staged at the Philippine Arena, tagged as the world’s largest indoor stadium with a capacity of 50,000.

More than a million members of the INC are expected to attend.

The NLEX estimates that over 82,000 vehicles will flock to the event.

“So, to spare you some discomfort, we suggest that planned trip be moved to another date,” the NLEX said.
