MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Thursday morning continued to repack relief goods for victims of typhoon “Glenda” (international name: Rammasun).
“Continuous repacking of food packs in all affected regions and in NROC (National Resource Operations Center) is ongoing,” the agency said over Twitter.
DSWD said 934,501 food packs and 541,332 non-food packages have been made available in its regional centers.
Before the typhoon hit, 138,787 food packs were also pre-positioned by the agency in the following areas: National Capital Region, Regions III, IVA, IVB, V, VII, and VIII, as well as in the NROC.
Of those affected, 81,878 families or 447,615 persons were in 652 evacuation centers.
In addition to food packs, hot meals were also provided by affect local government units to evacuees and stranded passengers.
The NROC is located along Naia Chapel Road in Pasay City.
