Southern Mindanao police has new intelligence chief
DAVAO CITY, Philippines—A new intelligence group head has been named for the regional command of the Philippine National Police in Southern Mindanao.
Supt. Lyndon Mencio replaces Supt. Leonardo Felonia, who was relieved after being linked to the June 12 slaying of Cebu hotelier Richard King.
Mencio, formerly assigned to the PNP Intelligence Group headquarters at Camp Crame in Quezon City, is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1990.
“This is my first time to be assigned in Mindanao,” he told the Inquirer.
Although assigned head of the regional police intelligence unit two weeks ago, Mencio said he was still going through a familiarization process.
“What I can promise is to continue things that my predecessor had pursued, such as identification and arrest of high-value targets in relation to national security,” Mencio said.
