MANILA, Philippines – Government prosecutors accused lawyer Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes, former chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, of having “after office attacks” as a means of  wresting control from the Sandiganbayan on where she will be detained.

Reyes who is accused of plunder in the pork barrel scam has been ordered detained in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig.

Doctors from TPDH recommended that she be transferred to a tertiary hospital, preferably Philippine Heart Center or the Sta. Ana General Hospital where her cardiologist is connected. The anti-graft court has set the case for hearing on Tuesday.

However, on Friday evening, Reyes was already taken to the Heart Center after complaining of chest pains sans court order.

“Her attacks occurred towards the end of office hours and in the evening when a judicious determination by the court of the need for hospital intervention may conveniently be foregone,” the prosecutor’s opposition to Reyes, motion for reconsideration.

“From the foregoing, it is apparent that Reyes refuses to be held in Camp Bagong Diwa and is prepared to wrest control over such matter from court,” the further motion, which was signed by Deputy Special Prosecutor John I.C. Turalba, further stated.
