‘Glenda’ leaves over 900 stranded in Bicol, Batangas ports – PCG

MANILA, Philippines – Over 900 passengers were stranded in Bicol and Batangas ports due to Tropical Storm “Glenda” (Rammasun), the Philippine Coast Guard said on Monday.

As of 3 p.m., 941 passengers were stranded – 349 in Tabaco, 35 in Bulan, 21 in Pilar, 406 in Matnog and 30 in Cataingan.

There were also 100 stranded passengers in the port of Batangas.

Glenda continued to threaten Bicol as of midday Monday.  Signal No. 2 was hoisted in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay and Sorsogon.

Signal No. 1 was raised in Masbate, Burias and Ticao Islands, Marinduque, Quezon, Polillo Islands, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Southern Aurora, Northern Samar and Metro Manila.

The storm is forecast to make landfall in Virac, Catanduanes on Tuesday morning.
