2 killed in shooting at pre-nuptial celebration

DIGOS CITY — A pre-nuptial revelry in Malita, Davao del Sur turned bloody on Monday evening when armed men strafed the house where the celebration was being held, the police said.

Senior Police 0fficer1 Carlito Nailes, Malita police investigator, said in his report to the provincial police office in Digos City that two persons were killed while five others – including a six-year old child – were wounded in the incident that took place in Sitio [sub-village]  Agdao in the seaside village of Tubalan around 9:30 p.m.

Nailes said the victims were celebrating the upcoming marriage of their relatives at the house of Anacleto Basilan when armed men on a motorized banca suddenly arrived and started firing on them.

Dolly Kasim, a village watchman, and a Totong Godoyon died instantly while the wounded victims were rushed to the hospital, he said.

Nailes said the motive of the attackers and their identities were still being determined.
