EX-NBI chief’s assets up for auction

MANILA, Philippines—The Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) said at least 14 parties have shown interest to bid for the forfeited properties of Marcos-era National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Jolly Bugarin.
The PCGG, which is tasked to recover the ill-gotten assets of the late strongman and his cronies, have put up for auction three forfeited properties of the late NBI director worth at least P114 million.
The forfeited properties consist of a house and lot in North Greenhills, San Juan City, with a lot area of 727 sq.m.; a house and lot in Valle Verde III, Pasig City, with an area of 721 sq.m.; and a 582 sq.m. vacant lot in BF Homes Subd. in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.
The public auction for the Greenhills and Valle Verde properties is set on Sept. 1, while that for the BF Homes, Quezon City property, is set on Sept. 2. Dona Z. Pazzibugan.
