Any clues in victim’s phone, laptop?

THREE cell phones and one laptop will be used by the Mandaue City police to piece together clues to the fatal ambush of a businesswoman in Don Andres Soriano and Plaridel Streets, Mandaue City at past 6 p.m last Friday.

Insp. Ramil Morpos, deputy chief of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) said the cell phone of victim Iris Marie Hugo Gonzales will be brought to its service provider since it was locked.

He said they will transcribe the text messages and get the numbers on two other cell phones.

The laptop will be opened in front of the victim’s family, Morpos said.

He said they talked with Gonzales’s secretary Irene Alcoba on the ambush.

Morpos said they will visit Stockland International Trading owned by Gonzales to verify any business dealings that may have led to her ambush.

He said the victim’s alleged live-in partner, Crisostomo Alcala,39,  went to the police office and expressed willingness to cooperate in the investigation.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes said the ambush highlighted the need to set up closed circuit TV cameras in major intersections of the city.

He said the purchase of these cameras would help the police solve crimes on the road and visible establishments because recordings could be used to identify perpetrators.  The orposed purchase  for cameras is being processed new  traffic signal lights. Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
