MANILA, Philippines– Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile’s former chief of staff Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes arrived late Wednesday evening at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, where she was ordered detained by the third division of the Sandiganbayan while awaiting trial for the plunder charges filed against her in connection with the pork barrel scam.
Reyes left the Sandiganbayan jail around 10:30 p.m., or a few hours after the court decided to transfer her to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology female dormitory in Taguig.
She rode an ambulance with two vans carrying her family members trailing it.
Reyes arrived at Camp Bagong Diwa around 11:20 p.m. and jail personnel immediately processed her papers.
Reyes was temporarily detained at the Sandiganbayan jail after she surrendered to the antigraft court following the issuance of an arrest warrant against her for plunder over the pork barrel scam.
She is a co-accused of Enrile, who is currently confined at the Philippine National Police General Hospital.–With Kristine Felisse Mangunay, PDI
