Gigi Reyes transfer to Bicutan set Wednesday night

MANILA, Philippines—Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes will be transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa Wednesday evening, a Sandiganbayan official said.
Third division executive clerk of court Atty. Dennis Pulma said they already served the commitment order to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology female warden in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.
Reyes, the former chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, is then expected to be picked up by BJMP officials Wednesday night, Pulma added.
This after the third division ordered Reyes to be transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa from the Sandiganbayan jail.
She was temporarily detained at the Sandiganbayan jail after she surrendered after being charged with plunder case over the pork barrel scam.
Reyes had asked the court to transfer her to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center, where Senators Ramon Revilla Jr. and Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada are detained.
But the court eventually junked Reyes’ motion for lack of merit.
The court had initially intended to transfer Reyes to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, but the Quezon City Jail said it does not have the capacity to secure a high-profile detainee like Reyes.
