MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Justice has provisionally admitted to the Witness Protection Program (WPP) a member of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity who was present during the initiation of hazing victim Guillo Cesar Servando.
“There’s a frat member who’s now in the custody of NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) who has applied for WPP and we have provisionally admitted him already because he executed a statement,” Justice Secretary Leila De Lima told reporters.
“He was right there, he was present during the initiation although he claims he never touched any of the neophytes. He has another role other than the beating,” she added.
The member, De Lima said approached the NBI. He was accompanied by a lawyer.
She added that two neophytes who, together with Servando, underwent the initiation rites have executed an affidavit.
