Scores of flights to and from Tacloban cancelled

MANILA, Philippines—At least 38 flights going to and from Tacloban Wednesday have been cancelled due to ongoing emergency repairs at the runway of the Tacloban airport.

In an advisory issued by the Manila International Airport Authority, flights of Cebu Pacific Air, TigerAir Philippines, AirAsia Zest, and Pal Express have been grounded as of 9 a.m.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has earlier issued a Notice to Airmen that the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport will be closed from July 9 to July 10 until 5 a.m. for “emergency pavement repairs.”
