Hazing victim's mother relives son's death in visit to Guillo Servando

MANILA, Philippines – Calling for the closure of fraternities, the mother of hazing victim Lenny Villa visited the wake Guillo Cesar Servando Wednesday, hours before he is to be cremated.

“Fraternities must be closed. It must not be tolerated by the elders and previous members of the fraternities,” said Gerarda Villa in an interview outside La Salle Greenhills in San Juan City where Servando’s body lay in state.

There will be a final mass for Servando who died Saturday after sustaining multiple injuries from the initiation rites of Tau Gamma Phi. Cremation is set at 2 p.m.

Villa founded Crusad Against Violence together with other parents who had lost their children in violent crimes after her son Lenny was beaten to death also in a fraternity hazing incident more than 20 years ago.
