Did you know: National Scientist Jose Encarnacion Jr.

Born in Manila, National Scientist Jose Encarnacion Jr. was a noted economist and the first Filipino to be published in an economic journal of international standing. Encarnacion served as president and one of the founding members of the Philippine Economic Society. He also worked as professor and dean of the School of Economics of the University of the Philippines. He was named a National Scientist in 1987. Encarnacion died on July 5, 1998.
