MANILA, Philippines—Sorry, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) office you are calling is either unattended or out of coverage area.

The DFA advised the public Tuesday to either email or tweet their concerns as they are currently unable to receive incoming calls due to maintenance operations of phone lines in Pasay and Parañaque cities.

“We wish to advise the public that the DFA is currently unable to receive incoming calls, either through its trunklines or direct lines, due to troubleshooting operations being undertaken by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) in the areas of Pasay and Parañaque,” DFA said in an advisory.

“In the meantime, the public may send its queries to the e-mail accounts of DFA offices, the DFA official Twitter account (@dfaspokesperson) or Facebook page (Department of Foreign Affairs-Republic of the Philippines). Announcements and other DFA news are available for viewing at www.dfa.gov.ph,” it said.

The DFA did not specify how long the operations of the PLDT will take before the phone lines are restored.
