MANILA, Philippines―A total of 11,225 out of 29,188 passed the nursing board examination given by the Board of Nursing last month, the Professional Regulation Commission announced Friday.
A University of Santo Tomas graduate, Ma Margaret Benosa Sanchez, topped the Nurse Licensure Examination, with an average rating of 86 percent.
Ariel Angara Bitong Jr., also from UST, and Tiffany Jeanne Dumanil Severo from the University of Nueva Caceres shared the second place, each getting a score of 85.40 percent.
The schools with the highest passing percentage are West Visayas State University-La Paz (139 passers out of 139 examinees), Cebu Normal University (78 of 78), and Silliman University (53 of 53).
The licensure tests were conducted last May in the cities of Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
