Trader, son kidnapped in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines—Armed men abducted a businessman and his son in the village of Gusa here on Monday morning, authorities said.

Businessman Manny Boniao and his still unidentified son were inside the family-owned agricultural product store when armed men arrived and forcibly took them.

Chief Inspector Danildo Tumanda, chief of the city’s Public Safety Company, said the suspects, dressed in police uniforms, disarmed the security guard of the People’s Agri Supply and went inside the store looking for the businessman.

Tumanda said the suspects took the victims and fled on board a Red Isuzu Adventure with plate number SSZ 205.
