MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area in the Philippine area of responsibility being watched by the state weather bureau is not likely to become a storm but it will affect parts of the country.
The LPA was last observed 180 kilometers northeast of Borongan, Easter Samar or 230 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Alex Cada of Pagasa said the LPA will likely dissipate over the weekend.
“This weather system will bring cloudy skies and moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Bicol region, Mimaropa, and Visayas which may trigger flashfloods and landslides,” Pagasa said.
Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Northern Mindanao will have light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
