Suspected thief slain in Cavite

CAMP VICENTE LIM—A suspected robber was killed by policemen in Trece Martires City in Cavite early Monday.

The still unidentified man was shot dead when he attempted to shoot it out with policemen at around 4 a.m. in Barangay Hugo Perez, Senior. Supt. John Bulalacao, Cavite police director, said in a text message.

According to an initial report, patrolling policemen caught the suspect and two of his companions picking the front lock of a tire shop.

The two other suspects were able to escape during the gunfight.

Police said they recovered a bolt cutter, a cross bar and a .38 cal. pistol from the scene.
