MANILA, Philippines–Four men were charged with theft after they were caught in the act of stealing scrap metal from a warehouse in Malabon City.

The Malabon police identified them as Ego Morales, 25, a resident of Guyabano Street, Barangay (village) Potrero; Renato Pacheco, 43, and siblings George Ferrer, 25, and Jay-R Ferrer, 20, all of Macopa Street, Barangay Potrero.

The four were arrested around 7 a.m. on Sunday in the PI Industrial Inc. compound on Industrial Road in Barangay Potrero.

Police reports showed that a caretaker was roaming around the compound when he saw the four men hauling off a pile of scrap stainless steel valued at around P5,000. He confronted them and then called the police who arrested the four.–Nathaniel R. Melican
