MANILA, Philippines — An employee of the National Livelihood Development Center (NLDC) on Monday asked the Sandiganbayan to reduce her bail over her graft charges in connection with the pork barrel scam.
Gregoria Buenaventura asked the anti-graft court to reduce her P150,000 bail for five counts of graft to P50,000.
This means Buenaventura pleaded the court to reduce the bail per count to P10,000 from P30,000.
“The accused is a lowly government employee, a single parent and owns no properties or business from which she may derive income, her only source being her salary from (NLDC) where she is presently working with basic salary of P51,410 or take-home pay of P15,519.32 monthly after deductions,” the motion read.
“The accused has no financial capability to post the required bail and needs to borrow money to raise the amount needed…” it added.

The NLDC as an implementing agency is accused of coursing lawmakers’ Priority Development Assistance Funds to the bogus foundations of alleged mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.
