MANILA, Philippines–For ‎his first meal in jail, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was served fried fish and sautéed mung beans.

Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, Philippine National Police Public Information Office (PNP PIO)‎ chief, confirmed this hours after Revilla was finally admitted to the PNP Custodial Center.

During his first hours in his detention room, Revilla complained of severe migraine due to the heat inside his cell.

Although the police refused to divulge where exactly inside the Custodial Center Revilla was detained, his wife Lani Mercado described his jail as somewhat similar to the newly-constructed detention compound.

‎”It has a small bed, comfort room, mini kitchen and a window with iron grills,” Mercado said in an interview.

‎Revilla’s wife also said she was worried that the Senator might get severe migraine attacks with the heat condition of his cell.

“Kapag nasa peak na kasi siya ng pain, hindi na kaya ng medicine. Kailangan na dalhin sa emergency room para ma-injection,” she said.

She added that Revilla’s blood pressure rises whenever he experiences excessive pain.

“I just hope this doesn’t recur,” Mercado said.

‎With this Mercado said they would ask the court to allow Revilla to put an air cooler inside his room.

She added that Revilla brought with him two books.
