2 KOREAN SIBLINGS, NANNY ‘SHOT’

TWO Korean children and their 26-year-old nanny were wounded when the service firearm of a security guard accidentally went off in a Korean restaurant in barangay Lahug, Cebu City last Saturday night.
Police arrested security guard John Carlos Rafols, 26 after the incident.
Based on the police investigation, Rafols was drunk when he reported for work.
At the guard house near the restaurant’s parking area, Rafols was loading his .38 revolver service firearm when it went off.
The bullet hit the ground.
Merie Amarila and the two Korean siblings were in the parking area when the splinter of the bullet hit them.
The two-year-old Korean girl was wounded in the right arm and knee, while her 2-year-old brother was wounded in the chest and thigh.
Amarila was wounded in the neck.

LABORER KILLED
AT CARBON MARKET

A LABORER in Carbon market in barangay Ermita, Cebu City was shot dead before noon yesterday.
The victim identified only as Tagalog died on the spot with three gunshot wounds in the head.
The motive of the attack is still being investigated, said police.
Police said Tagalog was sitting on a stairway in Unit 3 when an unidentified man arrived and opened fire.

WOMAN SHOT IN DRINKING BOUT

A 20-YEAR-OLD woman was shot and wounded by a man whom she had a drinking with session in barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City early morning yesterday.
Mary Grace Manigos was wounded in the left thigh.
Police said Manigos was in a videoke bar at 5 a.m. when two men befriended her and asked for her cellphone number.
The two men invited the woman to join them in a drinking session.
While drinking, one of the men drew a gun and shot the woman.
It was not immediately known what drove the man to shoot the woman, said police.

GARDENER STABBED BY CO-WORKER

A GARDERNER was stabbed and wounded by his fellow worker in barangay Talamban, Cebu City last Saturday night.
The victim, Dominador Enojada, 19, and the suspect, Nobert Bolonghita, 19, are both gardeners in a house where they were working.
Police Enojada was about to sleep in his room when the suspect barged in and stabbed him in the abdomen with a shear blade.
The victim was rushed to a hospital while the suspect fled.
Bolonghita was arrested by police at past 4 a.m. yesterday on board a Negros Oriental-bound ferry at Tangil Wharf in Dumanjug town, southern Cebu./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
