In his eulogy, John King urged the authorities solve the murder so his elder brother could be given justice.
Richard King was someone who worked hard to achieve his dreams even if these seemed impossible, the younger King said, adding he wished the authorities would also do the same and solve his brother’s killing.
Ritchel King, the businessman’s only daughter, said it was the first time that they celebrated Father’s Day without her father and it was painful.
“From here on, we will be commemorating Father’s Day without our Papa. A painful realization. We question the fairness of it all,” she said.
About 100 people, including King’s family members and employees, all clad in white, joined the funeral procession from St. Peter’s Memorial Chapel on Imus Street to the Cebu Memorial Park in Barangay (village) Banilad, a distance of at least five kilometers.
A Requiem Mass was held at the St. Peter’s Memorial Chapel at 8 a.m. After the Mass, Richard’s remains were taken to the family mausoleum where they were interred about 11 a.m.
