DGL Motorsports makes waves in two Luzon races

Cebu’s racing powerhouse DGL Motorsports invaded the Luzon race circuit with a bang by topping two separate events recently.

The team of veteran racer David G. Lim (DGL) set a new record in round 7 of the Circuit Showdown at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) on Sept. 3 then ruled the 4th round of the Luzon Philippine Autocross Championship Series (PACS) at the Flilinvest tracks in Alabang, Metro Manila the day after.

DGL Motorsports bagged ten titles in the PACS event, including the overall crown after logging the best time of the race at 1:03.49. The team won the all-Mitsubishi, all-wheel drive, experienced modified A, experienced modified B, experienced modified C, open A, open B, open C and open overall crowns.

Driving DGL’s Mitsubishi Evolution V and Honda CR-X in those wins was chief tuner Mato Tan since DGL, the back-to-back Philippine Autocross Championship Series Regional Driver of the Year, Cebu Driver of the Year and Kartzone Series Driver of the Year, had to attend to personal matters back in Cebu.

In the Circuit Showdown, Tan showed the way for the team anew as he led the team to the best time of the event after logging 1:47.118 using the Evo 5. The time is the record to beat in the event at the renowned BRC track. Tan topped the time attack event using the Evo 5.

DGL Motorsports, which has been virtually unbeaten in the Visayas leg of the PACS, is supported by Federal Tyres, HKS Super Oil, Cebu MMF Glass and Aluminum, The Coriander and Rico’s Lechon.
